Welcome

Dear Parents and Visitors,

Thank you for taking the time to look at our website.

Denton West End is a large two form entry primary school catering for children from three to eleven years on the outskirts of Tameside.

We are very proud of our school. We have high standards in everything we do; we work hard to achieve our vision ‘Only our best is good enough’. This applies to all people connected to our school. We expect our children to achieve their potential through working hard and having a positive approach to their learning.

Our children are very well behaved, polite and welcoming. We know this because visitors tell us! Having a smile is very important to us!

We work hard to promote our core values of caring, being positive, having confidence and working together to help each other. Children are given responsibility during their time in school. They help to make decisions about lunches, our school rules and house point system and the charity we choose to support each year.

Reading is at the core of our learning. We believe that when children can read and they have a love of books it opens many doors to their imagination and their learning. We make sure we have lots of different types of books and reading materials to share with the children and fire their enthusiasm.

We love our maths at Denton West End and we can see that our children are becoming mathematicians. We are working towards Maths Mastery and our children are motivated by this and very capable.

Children at our school have a broad and balanced curriculum. We provide our children with many opportunities that will enrich their time at primary school through sport, music, art and drama. We like to take the children out on visits which enables our children to draw upon first hand experiences and enhance the high quality of their work. We also invite many specialists in to work with the children.

I hope you find the information you need in an easy and accessible way. Please let us know if there is anything you would like us to add and we will consider this.
