We encourage all our pupils to take a school meal. This ensures they have a well-balanced meal; encourages good manners and helps to develop social skills. It also prevents food and drink being left on the corridors. DWE Catering Staff provides a two-course midday meal, which offers excellent value for money and meets government nutritional standards
If you pay for your child’s meal, please send the correct amount of money, in a sealed envelope, marked with your child’s name and class, on a Monday morning. The cost of a school meal is £2.05 per day. Cheques are made payable to DWE School. If you are on income support, your child may be entitled to free school meals. Our school Receptionist will be pleased to advise you about how to claim this benefit.
Parents are most welcome to visit school to see, or try the lunches. Parents who wish their children to transfer from sandwiches to school meals must inform the class teacher or Receptionist and this will be arranged as soon as possible.
