Denton West End Primary School

Only our best is good enough

The Governing Body is a voluntary body of people who work collectively and tirelessly to promote high standards within the school. Governors represent the various sectors of the school and local community. We are passionate about education and work to the same end to ensure the children at our school have the best education we can offer.

The governing body has an extremely important role. It is responsible as a corporate body, not as individuals for:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  • Holding the head teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

It is a rewarding position working with a dedicated group of people in a highly supportive environment. As Governors, we invest a great deal of hard work and good will focusing on what really matters-providing the best education for every child at Denton West End Primary School. Governors at our school are encouraged to fulfill their role through training, regular meetings and inclusion in school development days. Currently, our member appointments are being reviewed.

The governor responsible for safeguarding is Mrs A. Cichirillo.
